How Long Does Adderall Take To Flush Out Of The System?

Hi! I have been prescribed Adderall for over a year now. My dose is 20mg 2x/day. I lost my prescription about 2 weeks ago. I did not report it to my doctor because this is the second time I have lost/misplaced my bottle. I have a urine test in two days. Will the adderall still show positive being that I have been taking it over a year? Also, would you know how long would it take to be completely out of my system?

Hi,

Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine) can stay in your system for a varying amount of time, depending on several factors such as your metabolism, dosage, frequency of use, and individual body composition. In general, it takes approximately 3 to 4 days for Adderall to be eliminated from your body, but in some cases, it can take up to a week or longer. After one week, the drug should be completely out of your system.

However, if you have been taking Adderall for over a year at the prescribed dose of 20mg 2x/day, it may still be detectable in your urine after two weeks of discontinuing the medication. Depending on the type of urine test being used, it may be detectable for up to a month after the last dose.

It's essential to be honest with your doctor about the loss of your prescription, as withholding information can impact your healthcare and treatment plan. If you are concerned about the drug's detection in your urine test, it's best to discuss this with your doctor, as they can provide you with more accurate information and guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
