How Long Does Alprazolam Take To Control Anxiety?

I am having a procedurei performed this coming Monday by a urology. He will be using numbing gel. I have been prescribed 2 alprazolam 0.5 tablets. This is the generic for Xanax. I need to know how long before its takes affect, and what it will do with me. And how long will take to wear off from me.

Yes, Alprazolam is sometimes used to suppress the anxiety with a surgical procedure. Generally, it is given in the night before the surgery. You can use it few hours before the procedure. Generally, it takes a day to be out of the body.
