How Long Does Aspirin Keep Fever Down?

How long does aspirin keep a fever down and I had a fever for 3 days with a high of 103.8 the first day, the fever broke last night after taking aspirin (8 hours ago) now my temp is reading 97.5. is this normal and is it the aspirin working or would it have worn off by now?
