How Long Does Elavil Stay Actively In The System?

Hi doctors,
I am worrying sick about do Elavil which is (amitirptyline)shows up in my new job employee test ether urine or blood test,if yes how long must I cut taking the medicine so it won't show up? I take 75mg of Elavil beside other med called dogmatil 50mg twice a day.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

I can understand your concern. Elavil is Amitriptyline and the drug is a TCA drug. The drug is safe drug and is not commonly checked in pre-employment screen tests because it is not the drug of abuse. In normal individuals with normal renal and liver functions the drug usually eliminated completely in about a week. Take plenty of water and citrus fruits and this will help in quick elimination.
