Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was using narsterate as a contraceptive, I stopped using it last year November, n use evra patch for 3 months which is march this year then I stopped, because I want to have a baby, I went to the gynaecologist in june and he did some test and the results came back saying im not ovulating he recommended Fertomid, I started using them last month now im on my second packet. my question is how long does it take for these tablets to help me ovulate? Thank you.
Normally tablets that induce ovulation should do so within the 2 weeks of being taken. Sometimes repeated doses are needed so please follow the instructions of your doctor. On the other hand, there are other causes of infertility as well, so the doctor should consider ordering a sperm analysis (spermogram) of your husband and in some cases, a hysterosalpingogram is needed to check that your tubes are not blocked.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
