How Long Does Finasteride Take To Show Effect?
During a visit to my doctor he prescribed Finasteride tablets, 5 MG, to reduce the size of my prostrate. I advised him that I had frequent urges for urination, including during a sound sleep at night. I also dribbles from the penis after urination. How long does it take Finasteride to correct the problem? You may be interested to know that my PSA was 3.1, which he advised was in the normal range. Thank you!

Hello sir,
Finasteride, is generally administered for ≥3 months before benefit is observed. If improvement does not occur within 1 year, further treatment with the drug is unlikely to provide benefit.
Continued use recommended to sustain benefit, which should be re-evaluated periodically.
Discontinuance leads to reversal of effect within 12 months.
