How Long Does Levofloxacin Stay In The System?

Took levofloxacin 500 mg for sinus infection. On the seventh day of a ten day Rx severe knee and pelvic bone pain. Felt like I had severe arthritis (stiffness & pain). Kept taking other remaining doses. Now have back of rt. knee pain and swelling. Assume it is a swollen tendon. Have read the side effects of this drug. When will this medication get out of my system?

Hello,

This drug may take up to 35 hours to get out of your body. Anyway, its adverse effects (tendinitis) may last longer, if you don't treat them with AINS.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
