How Long Does Metaxalone Take To Leave The System?

I am taking hydrocodone 5/325 for back spasms, prescribed by pain management--for 3 months-- dosage 3 pills per day.... Today I decided to take an 800 mg Metaxalone 800mg tablet, also prescribed for me in January 2017 by orthopedic dr for acute back spasm.... After 2 hours -- I experienced chest pain, flushed face, and elevated blood pressure and pulse. These symptoms have eased but I still don t feel back to my normal self, I ve been diagnosed with a continuous AFib condition-- I m a 73 yr old woman--- I ve never had a reaction like this before and don t want to feel like this again, how long will it take for the Mataxalone too leave my system?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Metaxalone is metabolised in the liver. Its half-life is 4 to 14 hours. Generally, a drug is considered out of the body in the 4 half lifetimes.

So this means the drug may be out of the body in about 16 hours to about 2 days. So maybe to take you a day to completely get out of the body.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
