How Long Does Mupirocin Take To Show Effect?

how long does it take to see results using mupirocin and cephalexin 500 mg for an infected finger? I am soaking the infected finger in epson salted warm water as well. Should I prick the swollen finger with a sterile pin to release any accumulated fluid? Thank you.

Hi there.
Most antibiotics will show noticeable effects after about 48 hours after starting.
If there is no change then you need to get back to your doctor to either change the antibiotic or drain it if necessary.
Draining it yourself at home is not recommended as it may further spread the infection or may end up damaging a nerve or a blood vessel which could be disastrous.
