How Long Does Nexplanon Protect Against Pregnancy After Its Expiration?
My nexplanon expired on the 28th of march i know its a 3 year plan, i have to wait for my insurance to kick back in and i am using other forms of birth control byt i thought i was may it exlired, so how long of a grace period do i have after it expires? or how likely is it i could be pregnant?
Contraceptive implants like Nexplanon offers protection against conceiving until expiry. Fertility returns back to normal soon after the implant gets expired. Hence, you are at risk of conceiving through unprotected intercourse.
Once the device has been expired, you need to use other modes of contraception like birth control pills to continue protection. Additional contraceptives like use of condom and spermicidal agents during the first month of use of birth control pills is recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
