How Long Does Prednisone Take To Show Effect?

Hi I have had a severe headache for 10 days pounding headache, eyes hurt, light bothers. I went to my md yesterday. He gave me a shot for the pain it helped me a little but still feel a lot of pressure. He prescribed me prednisone and Imitrex how long will this take to help me? I am also feeling fatigue and light headed... I am a little concerned

Up to 24 hrs. It acts indirectly by changing the genes that are turned on that are involved with inflammation.

This takes time and the cascade of effects from changing DNA activation of particular genes to the actual consequences of this takes about 24 hrs.
