Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in 2011 with no lymph node involvement. I was placed on Tamoxifen for 5 years of which I have completed 4. I am contemplating quitting the drug due to its toxic nature and the fact that I practice holistic approaches to my healthcare. How long does it take for the drug to leave your system and is it a drug you should stop without weaning it out of your system? Thank you, Debbie (58 yrs. old)
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if your main concern is presence of drug in system then in my opinion you should not worry about this, because you were on this drugs for 5 years so it may not cause any difference or ill effect on body system even if this is being stopped but main concern would be prognosis of malignancy and the lesion whether it is being regressed or not hope this information helps.
