How Long Does Zithromax Take To Reduce Temperature When Diagnosed With Pneumonia?

My daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia by chest xray yesterday. she had previously been wrongly diagnosed and put on Keflex. after 2 days treatment on that drug her temperature was still up so she returned to her dr and they did an xray ,diagnosed pneumonia and started her on Zithromax. she has been on that for 31 hrs and her temp is still 38.1. how soon should she see an improvement in her fever?

I can understand your concern.
In pneumonia, usually fever starts reducing after 48 hours of antibiotic treatment.
So you should wait for 1 more day.
Along with antibiotic drug, proper hydration and nutrition are also important.
So tell her daughter to drink plenty of fluids orally and keep herself hydrated.
Tell her to eat healthy food like high protein diet.
I fuse still continues to have fever even after 48 hours of Zithromax, she might need higher antibiotic.
So at present, wait for 1more day. Maintain nutrition and hydration.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
