How Long Does A Broken Finger Tip Take To Heal?

My daughter aged 7 had lost her finger tip after jamming it in a door in school she had to have emergency operation from the plastic surgeon, they were unable to save the finger tip and the had to file the bone and remove the nail. What is the healing process and how long will it take?
