How Long Does A Ligament Tear In Knee Take To Get Repaired?

i got a ligament tear when i met an accident last year and doctor advised me certain exercises but still cant play as my knee slips but in daily routine of walking it does not occur so can u please tell me how much time would it take to get perfectly alright..my age is 19
