How Long Does A Lower Back Fracture Take To Get Cured?

I fall on 3/26/11 after getting out of the shower. As my legs went in different directions I fall back and hit my lower back very hard against the corner of the door frame. Heave grat pain and the xray came back stating there is a moderate compound fracture of L1 and I need to consult a nuero surgeon. What can I expect recover may be? I am an accounting manager and need to work.
