How Long Does A Metatarsal Fracture Take To Heal?

I have an oblique spiral fracture to my 5th metatarsal... I am 6 weeks into recovery with no surgery. I am seeing an orthopaedic foot specialist. At this point my bone is still aligned correctly, but the bone growth is fairly non-existent on the x-ray. How much time does it take to heal, why is the progress not slow, I have no pain Rajimon Thanks
