How Long Does A Viral Infection Last?

My husband has had on and off fever, headaches and soreness/ body aches all over his body since Wednesday of last week. He appeared to be fine all day Thursday and most of the day Friday, but it came back with fever and soreness Friday night. The headaches have pretty much gone away, but he had fever up until today. Right now he has has soreness all over his body, even in his genital area. He has very little strength and he has to use both hands to do things. Our kids had something similar also, but not as severe as my husband. They went to the doctor and was diagnosed with viral infection. how long does a viral infection usually last?

Hello,

Taking count that your kids had the symptoms the same as your husband it can be a viral infection.
It may last 5 to 7 days and symptoms will clear gradually.
You may only use painkillers such acetaminophen, Tylenol, ibuprofen for pain relief and fever.
