Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How long does it take to be completely healthy after brinchitis? I went to the doctors, had antibiotics, and prescription cough syrup coupled with my inhaler. Yet even after taking three days off plus the weekend I still feel achy, feverish, and I'm still coughing just not as severley. I can't afford to stay home more, is there something more serious happening to me?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bronchitis which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection and it could be due to lung infection due to compromised immunity of body.
Need not to worry. You should do adequate rest and take preventive measures. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take steam inhalation. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for throat swab test and get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should take antiallergic medication such as Levocetirizine. Take proper course of antibiotic along with mucolytic agents. It will take around 10-15 days to heal condition.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
