How Long Does Cut On Wall Of Vagina Take To Heal?

Hi I think I may have scratched or cut the wall of my vagina with my plastic tampon applicator? My flow feels very heavy since then would the scratch or cut bleed? For how long and how long should it take to heal? What saftey measures should I take to insure no infection from it?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
To cause heavy bleeding, you need to have a deep cut in vagina.. seemingly not possible by tampon inserter, Still if you doubt you should get it examined by a gynecologist.
*A superficial bleeding would heal in 4-5 days by-
- using simple sanitary napkins- do not use tampon for time being, it may irritate, hurt & avoid early healing.
- Keeping the part clean , by frequent washes/ changing napkins often. Use of Betadin ot antibiotic vaginal pessary .
* A deeper cut would need stitching with help of a gynecologist followed by medicines as advised & maintained local hygiene. It will take a week to heal if managed properly.
Thanks.
