How Long Does Distal Radius Fracture Take To Heal After Being Casted?

I had a distal radius fracture on my left thumb (apparently through a growth plate) and another fracture on my wrist near my little finger, and I have been in a plaster cast for 5 weeks. Yesterday I went to the hospital and they completely removed the cast without even xraying it to see if i've recovered.... My wrist still feels and looks exactly the same as it did when i first did the injury. Should i go back and ask for an xray? i really don't think it's better.
