How Long Does Ear Pain With Holes In Eardrum Take To Heal?
Hi.there, a week ago today, I went to my gp with a septic throat an he gave me penicillin, but.the following day I got terrible ear ache and slight deafness. I went to a walk in gp centre the following day where I was told I had a hole.in my eardrum due to infection and.was.given ten days of amoxicullin, thepain as now.gone, but I have constant ringing and my hearing isn t back to normal, how long does this normally take to get better
If tympanic membrane perforation is there then there will be a mild hearing loss. So in case of small perforations it may heal spontaneously but big or subtotal perforations need surgery. Avoid water entry into the ear while bathing. Use tablet Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid 625 mg for five days. Drink hot water only. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
