How Long Does Fractured Distal Fibula Take To Heal?
8 days ago, I twisted my ankle and fell. I was subsequently diagnosed with a fracture of the distal fibula. It is immobilized in a walking boot and I was advised to rest the leg/minimal use. Over the past few days, I have developed bruising extending from my toes to just below the knee. The toes are moderately swollen and uncomfortable. I have been taking ibuprofen for pain/swelling. How long can I expect the swelling/bruising to last? How long for this fracture to heal? I am a marathon runner and hoping to resume training asap. Would a bone stimulator device reduce healing time for me?
Take complete rest and use ankle cap. apply cold compression. take combiflam tablet twice daily after food for 5days. when completly relieved of pain can slowly walk. avoit injury or twisting your ankle inbetween.
