has my ear operation failed? Dear Dr, I had my eardrum grafted 5 days ago now (anterior tympanoplasty with graft from just above tragus). I have packing in my ear as expected and no complications so far. However, when I breathe it still feels like there is air moving through my eardrum, as it did before the surgery & this concerns me that the graft may not have sealed the hole. I wonder if anyone knows whether this is normal & how long it takes for the graft to heal the hole? I read that the anterior grafts are more difficult as the blood supply is less. I think I may just have to wait & see when they take the packing out in 4 weeks. I m taking it really easy & not doing anything which may risk disturbing the graft, but I m worried that it hasn t worked. Any reassurance or advice me would be really appreciated!!
