How Long Does It Take To Cure A Straightened Spine?

I was in a car accident almost one year ago had severe whip lash I have been off work since last June. Severe pain in neck and now middle and lower back. Can't walk longer than ten minutes without sitting down the pain is so severe. Have been in the hospital twice due to muscle relaxer and pain med complications. Six months of therapy and I'm still in excrutiating pain. The drs say my spine has straightened due to the number of months with severe back spasms, numbness, and pinched nerves. The pinched nerves have calmed down. Four doctors later I don't know who to see they all say it takes several months or years to try and get my cervical spined cured maybe never. Is this true?
