How Long Does It Take To Heal After Quitting Smoking?

I'm 15 and I've been smoking since I was 12. I recently quit in the end of may. I do experience a lot of difficulties breathing to where I'm very light-headed and my body gets really weak. How long will a healing process take and is any of this serious?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Smoking damages lung which lead to many respiratory problems. Smoking also increases chances of respiratory infection. It is better to meet physician for treatment of current respiratory problem.

Body try to restore its normal functioning after quitting smoking. In 2-3 years of abstinence lungs gain almost healthy status if damages are not irreversible. So it is better to stop smoking. If you are not able to quit self then you can meet meet psychiatrist for deaddiction.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
