Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Long Does It Take To Pass A Kidney Stone After Taking Pamsvax XL?
I m taking Pamsvax XL 400mg having had a large kidney stone identified during a recent CT scan. I was told the drug s purpose was to help me pass the stone more easily. Does this mean i can expect to be passing a large stone any time soon. I have been taking one capsule per day for about 10 days now. My history: I ve had radiotherapy and hormone treatment for prostate cancer. My PSA reading is normal .
After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that you shouldn’t expect to pass large stone as the stone will break down and will pass out in small pieces.
It’s recommended for you to continue taking Pasmax xl and follow up in USG-KUB after passing some stones.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
