How Long Does It Take To Recover From Shinbone Injury?
I injured my leg in a skiing accident last weekend. I hit a tree at low pace and my physio has diagnosed bone bruising at the top of the shin beneath the knee. This happened a week ago and I have discolouration and pain in the area. What is the healing time frame as I m skiing again in 16 days and are there any exercises I can do to maintain leg strength for skiing without placing undue stress on the injury. Thanks, Paul (Sydney Australia)
In general, recovery for a tibia/fibulafracture takes about three to six months while stressfractures usually take six to eight weeks. The healing time can be quicker by taking the right steps.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
