Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi. I have a drug test sometime next week. i have been using chewing tobacco and dipping snuff for alittle over a month, maybe two and more heavily this month because I was having a hard time finding a job. I have been trying to get this job for awhile and they finally called, I didnt expect them to but they did and it is a tobacco free place. It is a hospital job. My question is how long does it take to get nicotine or what they test for out of your system?
Generally nicotine will leaves your blood within 1 to 3 days after you stop using tobacco, and cotinine will be gone after 1 to 10 days. Neither nicotine nor cotinine will be detectable in your urine after 3 to 4 days of stopping tobacco products.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
