How Long Does Pain And Swelling In Fractured Toe Take To Heal?

I fractured my toe 3 weeks back when I dropped a dumbell on it in the gym. I went to the hospital where they buddy taped my toe and have been on pain killers. Since then I have been on rest but the pain and the swelling has not reduced yet. Could you advise how log the bone would take to heal and when will the pain and swelling reduce?
