How Long Does Pneumonia Take To Be Cured Completely?

I was diagnosed with pneumonia 6 weeks ago. I am still coughing up milky phlem with yellow specks, have fatique, get short of breath easily, still have a scratchy feeling in the back of my throat. my last chest x-ray showed clearing but still a little cloudy. should I get a second opinion of what is going on or does it always take this long to get over pneumonia?

Hi.

Pneumonia can take a long time, and in my opinion it is fine to experience symptoms for a longer period of time. Speak to your doctor about initiation of medication that can help with suppression of symptoms.
