How Long Does Redness Caused Due To Cellulitis Take To Alleviate?
I am being treated for cellulitis from an injury on leg and have been on antibiotics since Wednesday12/2 and have noticed little change in the size of redness. How long will it take for it to decrease in the rednesst . The redness remains the same.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain redness at the site of injury that has progressed to Cellulitis which is secondary to infection.. The redness is due to inflammation and the resolution will depend upon severity of the infection as well as the progress of treatment.. It would although take about 2 to 3 weeks for the redness to resolve completely and can take a bit longer if infection is severe.. I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated so as to check for the progress of treatment.. You can also do cool compresses over the red areas to reduce inflammation.. Application of steroid ointment along with antibacterial ointment can help.. Elevate your leg while lying down..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards, Honey Nandwani Arora.
