How Long Does Strep Throat Take To Heal?
Hi, i have on and of infection in the throat that lead to strep throat with a mild growth of citrobacter spp upon cs, 400 aso titer result. I am admitted and had 6 shots of ciprofloxacin, My throat still hurts a little especially when i was asked to gargel with bactidol, how long would be the treatment for this? Thanks.

Hi,
You may be suffering from chronic pharyngitis. It may be due to bacterial or gastroesophageal reflux disease or allergic pharyngitis or post nasal drip causing pharyngitis etc.
Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day. Send sputum for culture and sensitivity. Use tablet Amoxiclav twice a day for five days.
