How Long Does Swelling Last After Falling Over?

i fell 2 weeks ago on my behind. i was very bruised and now the bruise where i exactly fell is still here and above it is very swollen, the size of a baseball. How long until he swelling goes down? I am now using a heating pad for 20 minutes every 2 hours. It also has a burning feeling to it. Thank you
