Hi,

Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill that contains a high dose of levonorgestrel, a synthetic hormone that prevents pregnancy by delaying ovulation or inhibiting fertilization. Vaginal bleeding is a common side effect of taking Postinor 2, which is caused by hormonal changes in the body.

In general, the bleeding after taking Postinor 2 can last up to two weeks, and it can be irregular and heavier than normal menstrual bleeding. However, if the bleeding persists for more than two weeks or is heavy and accompanied by severe pain or fever, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible, as this may indicate a serious complication.

In your case, since you experienced heavy bleeding after taking Postinor 2, your doctor prescribed norethisterone to stop the bleeding. Norethisterone is a synthetic hormone that is often used to treat menstrual disorders, including heavy bleeding. If you are still experiencing bleeding after stopping norethisterone, it is important to contact your doctor for advice. They may suggest taking norethisterone again or recommend another treatment option, depending on your situation.

In general, it is not uncommon for women to experience irregular bleeding or spotting after taking emergency contraception. However, if the bleeding is heavy, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms, it is important to seek medical attention to rule out any underlying health issues.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
