How Long Does Wound Take To Heal Post Fistulotomy?

Had a fistulotomy with a seton 62 days ago. Wound still extremely painful with bowl movements and bleeds. Boarders have come closer together, not smelly puss discharge. Put a gauze pad against area for discharge and get little yellow discharge on gauze in-between 3-5 changes daily. Take sitz bath daily and try to shower quickly after activity. Running and lifting weights. How long till this wound heals anything I am doing wrong or could be doing to speed up the process?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of a local wound infection. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your surgeon as soon as possible. In the meantime, I recommend using locally an antibiotic ointment, maybe tetracycline. Do a physical exam and some blood lab tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
