How Long Is Bronchitis Contagious?

Grandparents, both suffering and recovering from bronchitis (bacterial) want to know if we need to,wait the 8 days before we can spend time with the baby and her 18 month old brother? We are on Dulera inhaler(2x a day) and methyprednisolene 4mg (6 days) and Benzonatate(3x a day) for 20 days thank you...mary ann luke charlesandmaryannluke @ yahoo.com

dear Chronic bronchitis isn't contagious, but it's a serious health problem that requires a doctor's care. Acute, which can last for 1 to 3 weeks. It's usually caused by cold or flu viruses. Since these viruses are contagious, acute bronchitis usually is, too. acute bronchitis only 10%of cases csused by bacterial it may be contagiousness initial 1to 3weeks.it may vary according to virulence of bacteria and duration of antibiotic environmental factors ,host factors etc.i think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
