How Long Is Recovery Time After Tonsil Removal While Experiencing Severe Throat Pain And Stuffy Nose?
Hi, ive had my tonsils removed and on the 6th day of recovery, throat still hurts a lot, on painkillers, runny nose. I want to kiss my gf and wonder how many days i should wait, we live in the same house and when shes close to me she has a mask on. Her brother was sick but she hasnt seen him in a week or so.
Recovery time after tonsil removal varies from patient to patient. Some recover in 10 days others may take about a week or 2 to recover. Recovery depends on the type of surgical technique used during tonsillectomy, it depends on your age and also on your overall health. To recover faster, take only soft and cold food in the first 2-3 days of tonsillectomy.
Continue to take pain medicine and other prescribed medicines as directed. Drink sips of water, fluid to stay well hydrated. Stay away from people who have cough, cold or flu. Stay in a room with humidifier on so that your throat is not dry and air in the room moist. Do not do any strenuous work for about 10 days post-surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
