hello and welcome,

I understand your concern as you seem to be quiet active.

The recovery time directly depends upon the type of surgery [ vaginal, abdominal, or laproscopic], indication for surgery [ this is very important and will decide the recovery, condition of the patient at the time of surgery, surgical difficulty involved and the extent of surgery.

For a simple procedure like a supracervical hysterectomy [ partial hysterectomy] done laproscopically the recovery time is ambulation on the same day or the next day and rest for 7-14 days. However considering that all hysterectomies are major surgeries we advise to avoid weight bearing for 6 weeks post op.

Light exercises can be begun after a month after laparoscopy and later for convetional surgery. Gym is advised after 6 weeks and that too must be stepped up gradually. If too hasty exercise and work schedule is resumed than chances of getting a vault prolapse later are more.

Hope this satisfies your query.
