General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, greetings! Thanks for posting your query. Abortion pills cause bleeding to remove the products of conception. Heavy bleeding starts in 3-4 hours and usually persists for around 24 hours. There maybe mild bleeding till 1-3 weeks. If the bleeding persists for too long, or continues to be heavy even after 24 hours, kindly contact a local gynaecologist as you may require hospitalisation.
