How Long Should Acitrom Be Continued To Treat Thrombosis?

Hi sir, Due to thrombosis problem i am taking Acitrom 2mg since feb,2014 and doing a PT INR test in each month. PT INR value always comes between 2 to 3(min 1.96). When should i stop taking this Acitrom 2mg, please do suggest?? May i take SAFI with this?

Hi, Where did you have thrombosis?
What is your age and what was the initial problem? This will let me know how it should be managed.
If the thrombus is a first time, then you need Acitrom only for six months and not more. If it is a recurrent thrombosis then you need Acitrom lifelong or at least for 3 to 5 years. But you should also get a Thrombophilia profile to see whether you have any congenital or hereditary predisposing factors for the thrombosis. For these blood tests you need to stop the Acitrom for a month or so and then get them done.
