How Long Should I Wait To Take AIDS Test After Having An Unsafe Intercourse?

Hell, and thank you, I'm a woman that has been in a relationship with my boyfriend for a month now. We recently had sex and the condom broke and I'm a little nervous.I just want to be cautious and take a aids test and wanted to know how long should I wait to take the test with us having this recent sexual encounter with the condum breaking?

Hello dear,

As per the case history as mentioned in your post, it is advisable to undergo test for detection of HIV infection as well as VDRL test to rule out any Sexually transmitted infection.

There are certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.
