How Long Should Mercilon Pills Be Taken To Regularize The Periods?

Hi, everyone, for the past almost 5months, im having problem with my period cycle. My last period dropped on December last year. As im quite worry about my condition, last month, on May, i went to gynae and then she advice me to take Mercilon pills for 3months until July. Im start taking the pills on May and my last day taking the pills is on Thursday, last week. Then i stop for 7days, and currently im having my period. My question is, after complete take the Mercilon pills for 3 months course, do i still need to buy again and take the pills? And when i need to consume the pills again? Thank u.

Hi,

Tablet Mercilon is a combination of 2 drugs, estrogen and progesterone, mainly used for oral contraception. However, it may be also used to induce period as well as regularize periods. Usually a course of 3 cycles resolves the problem in a large no. of patients. However, some patients may need some extended use of this medicine, which should be used only under guidance of your doctor, if needed.
