I have been taking up to now 20, 600mgm tablets of Mucinex. Certainly notice SOME effect of nasal & chest mucus congestion loosening up - - but; I am also aware of severe itching at night in bed, of skin on both legs & ankles! Also, for how long must I continue taking the tablets?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are on treatment with mucinex for chest and nose congestion.
Mucinex is dextromethorphan and it is used for the treatment of congestion and cough of the respiratory tract.
The side effects you have mentioned like itching on legs is one of the known adverse effect or side effect of the drug as it causes pruritis and skin rash.
The drug needs to be continued till the symptoms disappear. Hence if itching is severe you need to consult your doctor for stopping the drug and replacing it by another mucolytic agent.

Thank you
