How Long Should Stamlo Beta Be Taken For Hypertension?
hi ,i am 45yrs old professional pilot. Two months back ,I went for routine check-up and found high BP.dr. advised stamlo beta at bed time and telsartan-40 after bfast. Is it advisable to continue for longer period.I feel headache& uneasiness.Any other side effects related to my profession?
Hi welcome to HCM I understand your query and concern. Anti hypertensives should be taken life long.Drugs like Stamlo beta and telma are very much superior drugs.so you need not worry regarding side effects.Just dont be anxious.Start your medication as prescribed by your treating doctor.Monitor blood pressures regularly.Get investigations like ECG,2 Dimensional echocardiography,lipid profile,blood sugars as a part of routine check up to prevent complications of hypertension.You may also need lipid lowering drugs if your lipids are high.Exercise regularly.Eat fruits like apple,pomegranate.Take salt restricted high protein diet.Consult your cardiologist for exper management.
