How Long Should Utovlan Be Taken For Irregular Menstruation?

Hi how long can I take utovlan 5mg tablets for as the doctor have but me on them as I been have problems with my periods starting taking then on Friday and she put me on then for 3 weeks if I need to can I take then for a bit longer if I need to as there have help a lot got to go and have a blood tests to see what s going on next week

Hi,

Utovlan is similar to the female hormone progesterone. It is generally taken for 3-6 months to help with the irregular periods. You start taking it after day 14 of the menstrual cycle and take it for 10 days.

This is repeated for 3-6 months. It is generally not taken more than 10 days in a menstrual cycle (a month) as this helps imitate the normal menstrual cycle.
