How Long Should A Ruptured Blood Blister On Toe Take To Heal?

Hi I fractured my little toe 4 weeks ago and have a blood blister on it which developed afterwards. My GP said I may need to have this drained. How long should it take for this to heal and at what point should I return to my doctor off treatment? I've had it for roughly 2 weeks.

Hi,

I am quite empathetic to your fractured little toe with blood blister.

The most important thing you should do is to not touch, pinch, pop or squeeze the area by any means. Keep your limb elevated and do not stand for long time.

Apply fucidin cream or mupirocin cream over the affected area and take pain killer like paracetamol or diclofenac. Oral antibiotic may required such as ciprofloxacin 500mg two time for 5 days under medical supervision.

If not immunized for tetanus in last one year then get immunized for the same at the earliest.
If it is not getting better in next few days then you must get it drained at the earliest.

Take care
