How Long Should Compression Socks Be Worn After A Miscarriage?
Hi this morning at around 8:30am I underwent a surgical management of miscarriage. They gave me compression socks to wear before hand. I m now at home and still wearing them as the nurse said to wear them for two days. However it s now almost midnight and they are really hurting me can I take them off?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Compression stockings are used after surgical procedures to prevent blood clots developing in the leg, which is known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). When compression stockings are recommended after surgery, patients are usually advised to wear them as long as possible, day and night, until they're able to move around freely. Hence, kindly keep them as advised and do the follow-up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S.
