Hi, Norflox-TZ should be taken as one tablet twice daily for at least 5-7 days. Norflox TZ is an antibiotic combination used to treat susceptible bacterial and protozoal infections. It is not used in the treatment of indigestion or stomach upset. It consists of two antibiotics Norfloxacin and Tinidazole with lactic acid bacilli. 1. Norfloxcin is a flouroquinolone antibiotic generally used to treat certain infections in intestines, urinary tract, prostate infection (prostatitis), genital infection, gonorrhea and other conditions. 2. Tinidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic generally used to treat protozoal and bacterial infections of skin, blood, intestines (amoebiasis, ulcers or giardiasis) 3. Lactic acid bacilli are good bacteria found naturally in intestines, vagina and mouth. They act as probiotics and produce substances which kill harmful disease causing bacteria and also suppress their birth and growth by forming a hostile environment against them. They are commonly prescribed along with antibiotics to reduce the frequency of loose motions.
