How Long To Take Metformin And Multivitamins If Sugar Levels Are Borderline?
Hi, I am a female, 58 years old. I am taking Metformin 500 mg once a day. I feel sick I have nausea and stomach pain, also very thirsty. I though that I had something very salty to eat but the thirst wont go away. I have a headache as well. Also my face turn red more than usual. Yesterday my back was hurting in places than never bother me before.I took the last pill today around 2 PM. How long would it take for the medicine to leave my system if a stop taking it. I don t have diabetes only that the levels were borderline and the doctor decided to give it to me . My father had diabetes. I have been taking it for a month more or less. I take a multivitamin, Omega 3, Vitamin D, CQ 10 and magnesium every day. Should I worry about this or just stop taking it and see.
Hello, Nausea and pain abdomen are side effects of metformin. If you have border line diabetes, then you can try to manage it with observing dietary restrictions and regular aerobic exercises,if you don't want to take metformin. Alternatively you can take metformin in the dose of 250 mg twice a day. This way you would be able to tolerate it properly. However keep a regular watch on your blood sugar levels and start the proper meications in case they go hay wire. Thanks
